WW2 GI M6 Lightweight Gas Mask Bags With All Straps - - 2 Each
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:503054 |
Two original mid/late WW2 M6 gas mask bags, OD green #7 canvas construction with three snap flap, internal pockets, shoulder and waist/leg straps, and internal canister retainer straps. Bags are well marked with Chemical Corps insignia and nomenclature on front. Average fading from use but no holes, fraying, missing parts or other damage. Only problem I can see is that the white flannel lining on inside front of one bag is torn [see photo--does not affect appearance... or serviceability].Used with the M3-series Lightweight Service Mask, the bags first started to see widespread issue in 1943. Many GIs in the ETO would discard the mask and use the bag to carry personal items, extra ammo, etc. Increasingly hard to find these with all the straps intact, since when they were sold as surplus, most civilians removed the leg and canister retainer straps. Nice stuff for completing your mask or for reenacting/living history use, in very good condition and one price gets both! Any questions please feel free to ask.
