Offered for your consideration is this very nice HH Scott model 200B Stereo Vacuum Tube Integrated amplifier. Another item that I have had for many years, sitting on the shelf, it is time to pass it on to the next caretaker. This is one the last in the HH Scott vacuum tube amplifiers. The "B" model in just about every line featured new "barrel" shaped brown knobs, made in Germany with brass caps. Most, if not all of the se caps went missing over the years and this one was no exception.... But... I found a vendor who makes reproduction caps and the knobs now are covered! You may notice that the new caps are a little more yellow than the original. But the all match!
Please look carefully at all of the pictures; they are part of the description. Notice that the faceplate has just about all of the lettering. Usually, the numbers are missing from around the Loudness control. Not so with this amplifier. The cosmetics are very nice. I don't use the often abused term "Mint" because it has little meaning today since so many arbitrarily use that term. Your eyes will make that decision.
As for the chassis, some of the lettering is missing, but not much. I don't assign a number to this item as some would do as far as how good it looks. Again, your eyes will make that determination.
Tubes are original to the set. A full compliment of Telefunken ECL86/6GW8 output tubes, Telefunken smooth plate 12AX7/ECC83 preamplifier tubes and the original HH Scott labeled Rectifier tube, 5AR4 actually manufactured by General Electric in USA. Filter capacitors are original and did not get warm during the several hours that I auditioned this amplifier on the bench. The critical coupling capacitors to the output section of the tubes have been replaced, as with a few other capacitors. Therefore, much is still original.
It sounds great and I did test each input, including "Tape In". (I did not test the Tape Out). I have installed four new feet on the amp so that it can sit proudly without marring a surface when you use it. All tube shields, bottom cover and control cover are in place. Tubes have been removed for safe travel and are individually boxed. Again, please refer to the pictures.
This is a sweet sounding amplifier, with an output of about 12 watts per channel output. Production was 1964-1966. You will have to look very hard to find another one as nice as this one.
