Refurbished Clean ATARI Mega STE Computer 4Mb RAM w/Keyboard & Mouse
TESTED CLEAN
This is an Atari Mega STE Computer. It has been upgraded to 4Mb of RAM. The computer passes all Atari MSTE Diagnostics Test Ver 1.5, including the RAM test. The computer and keyboard cases have been washed and cleaned. The cases were also Retro-Brited and look almost new in color. The keycaps have also been Retro-Brited. Th...ey keyboard appears to be fully functional. The cases have no noticeable marks, cracks, or scrapes. There is a small chip missing from the front edge. The motherboard is the earlier Rev. B board that is mostly socketed, and the Blitter is a separate chip. The board has been dusted and all the socketed IC’s reseated. The ribbon cables cleaned. The keyboard has a NEW upgraded Mylar membrane contact sheet from Best Electronics installed. The PSU has been opened up and full dusted. The fan cleaned. The PSU capacitors look good and probably will last a few more years, but a recap would be recommended for anything of this age. A new bright power LED installed. The FD heads cleaned, and head travel rails lightly lubricated, and internals dusted. The faceplate, door, button washed and cleaned. The FD is a 720K unit and works normally. The HD is a Seagate ST-157N and is NOT functional. On power up is give 2 sets of seven LED flashes and this is all. When TOS 2.06 tries to assess the HD on beet the LED does blinks once. The monitor is not included as was used only for the sale of the Mega STE. A lot of work went to completely restoring this computer, including the keyboard, and mouse. Again, the only issue it that the HD is not functional and will either need to be replaced or fixed.
Please see photos for physical condition.
As with all vintage items, there is no warranty. I am selling this as-is with no returns.
eBay policies leave me with no choice but to mark each of my auctions with a “no return” policy. This is being done to protect me against returns such as (buyer’s remorse). After using the item for days and weeks, the buyer can submit a return and is not obligated to reimburse the seller for shipping charges and I have to pay for shipping charges back. Even though it is marked a “no return, “a buyer can still submit a return if the item was not as described or the item was damaged during shipping. Also, I do not need an eBay policy to do what is right and accept the item back if it wasn’t as described or damaged during shipping. Keep in mind, that I mainly sell vintage computers and vintage computer accessories. That said even though the box/item may not show damage, the internal mechanism may have been damaged or jarred from a rough truck and/or plane ride. I will work with ALL my customers to resolve the problem. Recently, I have had to take back items where the buyer didn’t check with mom/dad, husband/wife, or God prior to buying and did a return. eBay forced me to take the item back. Personally, I do not think that this is an acceptable way to return items. Many of the sellers on here are just trying to provide for their families and this kind of previous return is not fair to the seller. We are not Walmart or Costco that cannot absorb these financial damages. Again, I will work with all my costumers to ensure that they are happy with the item they purchased. Thank you for your patronage.
