TESTED WORKING CLEAN
This is a fully working Atari Mega STE. It has been upgraded to 4Mb of RAM. The computer boots from the working 120Mb hard drive. The 3.5" floppy drive has been upgraded to a 1.44Mb Drive. The case had to be modified to fit the eject button. The modif...ication was done very well. The computer passes all Atari MSTE Diagnostics Test Ver 1.5, including the ram, and floppy drive. The computer and keyboard cases have been washed and cleaned. They were also Retro-Brited and look almost new in color. The pictures that I took do not do it justice. It is raining outside and I am not getting the natural sunlight through my windows for good photos. I will try and retake the photos when I get a clear sunny day. The keycaps have also been Retro-Brited. They keyboard appears to be fully functional. The cases have no noticeable marks, cracks, or scrapes. The motherboard is the earlier Rev B board that is mostly socketed, and the Blitter is a separate chip. The board has been dusted and all the socketed IC’s reseated. The ribbon cables cleaned. The PSU has been opened up and full dusted. The fan cleaned. The PSU capacitors look good and probably will last a few more years, but a recap would be recommended for anything of this age. A new bright power and HD LED’s installed. The FD heads cleaned, and head travel rails lightly lubricated, and internals dusted. The faceplate, door, button washed and cleaned. The monitor is not included as was used only for the sale of the Mega STE. A lot of work went to completely restoring this computer, including the keyboard, and mouse. Please see photos for physical condition.
As with all vintage items, there is no warranty. I am selling this as-is with no returns.
eBay policies leave me with no choice but to mark each of my auctions with a “no return” policy. This is being done to protect me against returns such as (buyer’s remorse). After using the item for days and weeks, the buyer can submit a return and is not obligated to reimburse the seller for shipping charges and I have to pay for shipping charges back. Even though it is marked a “no return, “a buyer can still submit a return if the item was not as described or the item was damaged during shipping. Also, I do not need an eBay policy to do what is right and accept the item back if it wasn’t as described or damaged during shipping. Keep in mind, that I mainly sell vintage computers and vintage computer accessories. That said even though the box/item may not show damage, the internal mechanism may have been damaged or jarred from a rough truck and/or plane ride. I will work with ALL my customers to resolve the problem. Recently, I have had to take back items where the buyer didn’t check with mom/dad, husband/wife, or God prior to buying and did a return. eBay forced me to take the item back. Personally, I do not think that this is an acceptable way to return items. Many of the sellers on here are just trying to provide for their families and this kind of previous return is not fair to the seller. We are not Walmart or Costco that cannot absorb these financial damages. Again, I will work with all my costumers to ensure that they are happy with the item they purchased. Thank you for your patronage.
