1963CHELSEA 8.5 INCH 24 HOUR WHITE DIAL MILITARY CLOCK WITH BRASS FEDERAL ID TAG ONBACK OF CLOCKOffered for sale is a Chelsea8.5-inch dial military clock with the white 24-hour dial. I bought a collection of clocks and thisclock was in that group. I brought theclock home and wound it up and it has now been running for several days withoutissue. Still, the clock is in anas-found condition and needs to be properly serviced to be considered to be areliable runner. ...Chelsea does this attheir factory or I can provide you with the name of a man I know that does thistype of work. The only thing I see wrong with the clock is that the plastic ring that is held into place by the screws that hold the movement in is cracked with a small piece broken out of it. I mention it because you cannot tell by the photos and it does not detract from the appearance of the clock.
The serial number engraved on theback of the clock is 662628. This serialnumber is also stamped into the back of the movement as well as the 1963 date. There is also a brass plaque on the back ofthe clock that gives the 1963 date of manufacture as well as the Federal Stocknumber of 6645-526-9469 and the Federal Contract Number that the clock waspurchased under. Pictures are providedto document all of this. The back-flangemeasures 10.25 inches, the clock comes with a proper fitting key and will bedouble-boxed to properly protect it during shipping.
