GIANT! Cypraea tigris schilderiana #10 113.7mm, Cate 1961, RARE HAWAIIAN BEAUTY. Found by a diver in 55 feet of water along a ledge, North Shore, Oahu Hawaii. I only found two live tiger cowries while living in Hawaii, the first one I found right next to the beach in 12 inches of water, the second I found in 3 feet of water, and the moment I saw it, I knew it was a beauty. So I asked the owner of... the live fish store I was in, How much? and a half hour later I was watching my new tiger as it checked out its new home in my aquarium. . Anyhow, this giant beauty is in great shape, considering how big it is. It does have minor imperfections and light scratches on the dorsum, which is why this shell isn't listed as a GEM, but they are the kind of minor imperfections you have to look for, for as the photos show, this very mature, beautifully patterned, vividly colored, heavy, giant baby will look terrific sitting on your shelf!A great addition to a first-class collection.
As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!As for feedback, as your know, sellers live and die by the feedback you leaved, (please leave fives!) so if you have a problem, just let me know!
