HP Port Replicator Docking System F1177A for HP OmniBook 800 800CS 800CT. Tested, working. For shipment or free local pickup 100% of the proceeds go to CHARITY!
For sale: one docking station (aka a port replicator) for an HP Omnibook 800CS or 800CT laptop; 10/100 LAN card installed in dock's expansion slot.
I have tested this unit with three different functioning Omnibook 800CTs running both Windows 95 and Windows 98 and the Omnibook had no trouble docking or undocking.... The automatic locks worked properly and were properly retracted when an undock request was issued. The locks are meant to protect against accidental/unintentional removal of the laptop.
The rear edge of the dock (see photos) features ports for (left to right): floppy drive (proprietary), power, SCSI, printer/parallel, serial, mouse, keyboard, audio, video (SVGA/VGA).
I was able to test the dock's external floppy port and verify that the port is working, but I have no way to test the other ports. The 10/100 LAN card installed in the docking station is being recognized by the Omnibook and its drivers configured by Windows; the PC gets assigned an address from the router and I've been able to use Internet Explorer on a limited basis. And of course the docking station is properly supplying power through to the laptop in docked mode.
The photos show the docking station docked with an Omnibook 800CT computer - note that the computer screen displays an "eject PC" button in the Start menu, and the green light on the right side of the dock is illuminated - neither of these would happen if the dock were not working. (The Omnibook laptop shown in the photos being sold in a separate auction, see below!) This item does not come with any other parts or accessories, it is a standalone docking station.
Cosmetically it has a few scrapes and scratches as you'd expect from a used piece of equipment. I did have a look under the cover and everything appears neat and clean.
