For sale is an example of gold laced dirk belt as would have been worn by Officers of the Seaforth Highlanders of Britain and Canada with their full dress uniform. While I'm fairly knowledgeable in this general area, I'm no expert, so please make efforts to research more about this form of dirk belt before bidding. While this belt came as part of a full set of vintage Seaforth Highlander officer uniform parts, it does not strike me as being of the same vintage as the other&nb...sp;items in the grouping. Exactly how old it is I cannot say, so please bid as you think appropriate. In design and overall appearance it seems correct. The belt features a two inch wide thistle motif gold lace sewn to the outer face of a morocco coloured leather bodice. The belt buckle appears to be brass with silver metal coloured fixtures pinned in place. These include the "L" coronet over a raised in relief stag's head and lower scroll motif that reads "Tulloch Ard'. A separate but matching dirk frog comes with the belt. The images should speak for themselves. The belt is excellent condition for its age with almost no wear, though it is slightly soiled and discoloured to a degree in a few spots. I'm happy to send more images if required. When laid out flat the belt measures about 89 cm or about 35" in length though it can be adjusted to extend it by about another 35 cm or 14'. It stands about 2" in width. It weighs 200 grams before packaging. This belt comes from what was an almost complete full dress uniform grouping which is also for sale at this time on ebay so please check my other auctions as many hard to find related items of regalia are also available.
