Scarce, antique Clark's O. N.T. (our new thread) marking cotton box. This box is made from oak and pine or maybe poplar with a glass top. It originally held marking cotton in various sizes. The label on the inside back of the box showing the different sizes is complete but lifting a bit on one end. This box is finger joint or some call it dovetailed construction. It is 3 1/16" tall, 11" wide and 5 3/8" deep. The label on the front is virtually complete. It is rare to find the label on ...the glass at all! Usually the glass has been broken or the label has been scratched off so you can display something else inside the case. You access the case by pushing in the button on the front that is recessed. When you lift the lid there is a metal slide that stops the lid from opening too far. There is a label on the inside of the glass that the customer would see when this box was open on the store counter or else even left on top of a spool cabinet. The hinges on the back of the case are in good working order. The majority of this case is oak. The bottom is pine or poplar and that is where there is some minor wood worm damage. This case would look great on top of a Clark's spool cabinet. Please note, the closer you are to the Mid-Atlantic states the cheaper shipping will be.
