Montblanc 144 Celluloid Fountain Pen 1950s. 14C M Flex Nib. Just Serviced with new Cork. Metal Telescopic Piston works as when new. Fills to the MAX every time. Rare. Pen has no Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. Its 14C nib is a superb flex writer full of personality. Fantastic pen.

Made in Germany 1950s. These wonderful early model 144 have the highly sought after Metal Telesc...opic Piston. These original 144 are VERY different from the vastly inferior modern 144 and 145 etc pens that look similar but use Cartridges or Piston Converter. These 50s model 144 are full piston fillers the same as 146 and 149 etc. They also weigh far more than modern 144. The 1950s 144 is a similar length as a 1950s 146 only a touch slimmer. Where as the modern 144 is MUCH smaller than a modern 146. Of course 50s model 146 are shorter than modern 146...But you get the idea. These 1950s 144 are made of Celluloid. I love the Amber Orange see through Line Window for viewing your ink reserve inside the pen. The Clip and Ring Bands are Yellow Gold Plated and also superb with only the lightest of patina on the high points as you would expect of this age. Rare to find so clean. Pen has zero Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. No Dents, Bite Marks or Deep Scratches etc. Once in the hand to the naked eye looks fantastic still. Rare survivor indeed. These also have the sought after Off White Ivory colour Cap Top Star that has aged beautifully. Unique to 1950s.
Of course the real Star of the show with this pen has to be that wonderful 14C nib. A simple joy to use. ULTRA user friendly it writes with a Fine to Medium line that has Fine line side stroke at normal pressure. Super smooth with zero paper scratch. Perfect for everyday use. Also this nib has wonderful flexibility that allows for even more line width variation on the down stroke when varying levels of pressure is applied. Can Flex from Fine to Double Broad. The flex is also user friendly in that it is not soft, loose or twitchy. Only flexes upon user command never by itself. Superb Nib.
