Large Antique French Ormolu & Bronze Clock Case With Seated FigureFabulous and superbly detailed ormolu and bronze clock case with a seated male figure in 18th century dress, the sign of a great bronze. The figure shows amazing detail of a man that looks like a wealthy dignitary who is writing a letter, he has a pen in one hand and paper or a notebook in the other. The bottom front of the case has gilding to the bronze. There is also a bronze plaque depicting a couple in what appea...rs to be dutch traditional dress holding hands near the waterside with a boat nearby. This delightful old case is full of detail and quality. Measures 18.75in tall x 11in wide x 4.5in deep and movement hole is just under 4in (100mm) all approx and weighs around 7-8kg. With the addition of a good French movement this would make a terrific piece. Very rare to find a case of this size and quality especially in this condition.
