I'm selling this beautiful handmade WWII Shin Gunto Katana which was used by a Japanese army officer. made by a sword smith named 清宮 Kiyomiya Noguchi (signed 清宮 野口 徹) who was a sword smith working in Seki. Kiyomiya Noguchi (real name: Toru Noguchi) worked in Seki around 1935.
It is in excellent condition with all it's original fittings. The blade is excellently polished displaying its beautiful hamon and seems to have been sharpened rarely if ever which can b...e seen in its well shaped kissaki, as well as having been constantly oiled for its entire life. There are only a couple of tiny surface level rust spots which I have done my best to photograph. The tsuka wrapping is not stained/rotten/frayed. The Saya is not cracked. The details on the tsuba are sharp. and all the fittings, including the leather seppa which are in good condition for their age are present.
Overall this is an excellent example of a sword from this period and is well worth adding to a collection weather you are a fan of katana in general or of WWII memorabilia. It ships from my smoke free home. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks for looking and good luck!
