Covers:
The Bibles (Folios) come uniformly bound in blind stamped morocco, full gilt edges, six compartments to spine with raised bands, gilt titling to second and fourth compartment, blind stamped fillet to remainder to each spine.
Front board cracked which has come away along with the spine from the text block to Old Testament volume, front board detached on Apocryphal volume, rest of the joints extremely worn and tender with some cracked in a place, all boards are rubbed and scuffed and the corners are chipped and bumped. All spines are rubbed and scuffed, Apocryphal chipped at the head and foot with loss.
Inside:
All endpapers are foxed.Family register pages partly filled in and are detached, list of engravings pages and the title page loosely held, all in Old Testament volume.
There is intermittent foxing mainly to the margin area of the text pages, very occasional brown blemishes from pressed flowers once left in to the text.The plates are free from any rips or tears which have minor foxing to the margins, some plates without any.
The volumes are complete and come with 220 leaves of plate as called for.In the rear of the New Testament there are 11 plates of the 'Bible Natural History', 5 plates of 'Antiquities of the Bible' and 1 plate of the 'Lord's Prayer' which is loosely held as shown in the last two pictures above.
The Bibles measure 33 cm cm x 29 cm and weighs 10.130 kgs unpacked
