Here is your chance to own a rare & impressive bronze statue of George Washington sitting on his beautiful & detailed horse that was designed by Bernard Winskill for Royal Worcester and is in excellent condition~no damage but will probably need to be dusted. This beautiful statue was issued to mark the Bicentennial of the Declaration of Independence 1776 and there were only 15 of these statues made~this one is number 5/15 and is 19" high x 16" x 5" and weighs 31 lbs. ... Bernard Winskill developed a deep love of horses and attended St. Martin's School of Art where he concentrated on sculpture. He became a designer & modeler and also bred horses before joining the Royal Worcester design team in 1968. His first commission was to work on a series of figures of famous Military Commanders on horseback. He always paid great attention to the detail of the movement of the horses and as these large pieces were always assembled by hand, there was always a tiny difference between individual examples. Many of Winskills models were also cast in bronze at the Royal Worcester foundry in Severn Street. A traditional lost-was casting method was used to create a series of the models with great style and movement.*THIS BRONZE STATUE WILL BE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED & SHIPPED BY UPS
