This is a wonderful example of the mixed gem set rings that Bernard Instone was producing c1930. I have seen one or two similar rings to this in wonderful London galleries, such as Tadema and Van den Bosch. I have not seen this combination of stones before so was delighted to come across it.The largest stone is a tear drop shaped pink tourmaline, set with four prongs. There is a round amethyst, set with three claws, a round blue paste set with three claws and a lovely pearl, set with f...our prongs. The colours are really stunning together...the pink and purple especially.The ring has a split shank and each shoulder houses a draped leaf. There are two types of these rings, one with the leaf like this and the other has a flower on each shoulder. Both are beautiful. In between the stones are tendrils and three more superbly placed leaves.The ring is in lovely order, with normal wear for its age, only thing notable is the band is slightly unrounded and is a UK size M, which is approx. US size 6.25. A lovely Instone Arts and Crafts ring of the c1930 era, with nature as its muse.Although the boxes in my images are for display purposes only, I will package the ring in a safe, new gift box for transit.Thank you for looking.
