DESCRIPTIONAND CONDITIONUp for sale is a copy of the J. R. R. Tolkien The Annotated Hobbit Uncorrected Proof. This sale is just for the Uncorrected Proof. It is a large format brown soft cover book measuring about 11" by 8.5". There is some wear/damage from handling. The top right corner of the cover is creased. There are smaller creases or turn marks on other pages and the cover. There is some yellowing of the paper especially near the edges of the pages. There are some smudge ma...rks in places. As a copy of an uncorrected proof I think there are notes and underlining that are from the original proof possibly the dark black ones on page 2 and 5, but in this copy, I think the owner has done some underlining of their own. I noted on pages 5 there is some notes and underlining in pencil and in blue ink on page 11 & 83. I have shown most of this and the worst case in the photographs. There is a knock to the edge of the pages. There is a defect to the page 210 shown in the last photograph 12. This appears to be some crimping/creasing and black marks where it has happened. There may be other wear/damage that I have not noticed but I have tried to describe the worst. I have to sell it as is so please ask me about any concerns you might have, or if you want additional photographs before bidding.I mainly sell used older itemsincluding antiques, collectibles and oddities so please expect some signs ofwear from use.
