This is a superb pair of Staffordshire seated male sailor figure, his girl, with the recumbent black & white spaniel dog, cat, each with a beehive, tulip spill vases to the rears, mounted onto the decorative bases of which:During our research we have been informed they certainly date from the mid 19th century. Date about c1860s.seated male sailor figure in the wonderful sailors uniform.Recumbent black & white spaniel dog to his side.Other: sailors girl in the wonderfu...l dress attire.She holds a coloured bird in her hand.To her side: a cat showing an interest in the bird.Each with a table with on the top of: a decorative domed beehive.To the rear of each, a tulip spill vase.Mounted onto the decorative bases with the gilt band. Staffordshire, England origin.Pottery, ceramic.Each has an overall height of about 7.75inches.Overall size of the hollowed base of about 5.75 x 2.75inches.Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is very good and both are not subject to:any major blemishes except: one has graze chipping to a cats ear, a leaf.same has a firing crack under the base which is from time of manufacture.other has a chip to the rear at the base edge.due to age: both are subject to overall fine crazing with minor areas of loss of colour.All as per pictures.Besides being a very collectable pair of: mid 19th century, Staffordshire male sailor figure, his girl, recumbent black & white spaniel dog, cat, each with a beehive mounted onto a table, tulip spill vase to the rears, mounted onto the decorative hollowed bases, c1860s, both would also look fabulous displayed.uk to uk:FREEuk to usa: FREEuk to eu europe: FREEuk to worldwide: FREE
