RARE Original WWII U.S. Combat Medic Crystalline Sulfanilamide packet.  Sulfa meds were haled as a miracle anti-biotic at the time and by mid 1942 were added to all Medic and other medical kits. These were are an example of the med used in a powder like form to be applied to open wounds in the field.  In theory it would enter the blood stream through the wound and possibly stop an infection before it would start but by 1944 it was decided by the Surgeon General that not enoug...h would enter the blood stream to reach a therapeutic level and were removed from the kits by the end of the war.  This is  NOS (new old stock), not issued in there original cellophane packaging though the cellophane's seal has come apart, the packet can be removed if you choose.  100% original.  Medications expire and were and still are discarded on a regular basis making items like this extremely hard to find.
