This hardcover (with dust jacket and slipcase) volume is a survey of the Joan Miro's achievements as a printmaker and illustrator from the 1930s to the early 1970s. It is beautifully illustrated with 115 examples of his aquatints, drawings, drypoints, etchings, lithographs, book illustrations, and posters, ranging from the sombre Barcelona Series through his prodigious Equinox to two new interior lithographs created especially for this book (the frontispiece and between page 16-17), plus the lithographed dust jacket design. Yvon Taillandier contributes two essays on the artist -- Miro as a Printmaker and Miro as an Illustrator. The Introduction by Joseph Young and the Index of Illustrations complete this volume.

Condition: Fair plus to good minus condition, coming from a smoke-free, pet-free environment. Binding tight, pages complete and intact (pages and text block have age toning, light foxing to text blocks, yellowish age spots to many pages and inside covers -- however mostly along borders, a few affecting images (please see an example in my photos), covers have general light wear (corner and edge wear). dust jacket has general wear (age toning, general surface wear, corner and edge wear, laminate is lifting near spine folds), slipcase has much general wear (corner and edge wear, much surface wear). The book does have a slight musty odor (which can be remedied with a baking soda fix). THE TWO LITHOGRAPHS ARE IN NICE CONDITION!
