Original Description:
For your consideration is this beautiful and rare 18th century Keeling (formerly known as factory x) porcelain teapot hand painted in polychrome with exotic birds resting on tree branches as well as insects decorating the lid. Made during the late 18th century (c 1795.) A beautiful example in excellent condition with minimal wear to gold and a stable crack to underside which is difficult to feel with a fingernail (see photos.) Also some tiny chips to underside of lid (see photos) and a... darkened area of glaze near the foot which I believe is also from production. Possibly painted by George Davies or someone taught by him. Measures approximately 8.5" x 6.25" inches.
