George Orwell’s Nineteen-Eighty Four. 1999 1st thus and 50th anniversary edition. Secker & Warburg - publishers of the very 1st British edition. Hardback bound in oversize (10x8') ultramarine boards with blind-stamped titles on the spine. Pressing / bumping to extremities. No inscriptions. In its original jacket, which is unclipped and now protected by removable archival film. Some fairly mild marking to jacket. One or two finger marks to closed text-block edge, with a ...faint waviness to the pages. Nonetheless a very nice book. Illustrated by Alex Williamson. 249 pages. A daring and attractive edition. Priced to sell.
