Rogers Dayton 9x13 And 16x16 Drums Vintage 60s Players Painted.
Up for sale are two Dayton Ohio Rogers drums that could be recovered, or used as is and are totally playable if you are looking for a vintage Rogers players set of Toms. Here are the details below but the pictures should be viewed for exact conditions.
9x13- The entire Drum is painted in gloss white paint. The paper tag can barely be read “Holiday” and “Dayton, Ohio” from what I can make out. Looks like it ha...d a wrap that was removed, which pulled some bits of the outer ply of wood off in some areas. Hoops are replacements, Heads are used Remo Clear Pinstripe batter and Clear on the resonant side. Tone control and script badge are missing. Tom Mount is missing. All of the lug casings are Rogers. Some lug fasteners are replacements but most are Rogers. You can see where the inside is speckled grey under the white paint (where the Tom Mount is missing). Tension rods are mixed. The sound is amazing. Very deep and punchy. Tunes very well.
16x16- Painted Black over what looks like a wood finish, see pics. Not sure the drum was ever wrapped. Paper Tag and serial number dictate a 1968 manufacturing date in Dayton Ohio. Interior is speckled grey. The interior has been cleaned previously and some of the speckled grey is missing on the reinforcement rings. Shell is structurally sound. There areThree extra holes, one under each leg mount; a previous owner installed large Eye Bolts just below the mount for the legs to go through because the mounts were wobbly, which I tightened, bolts have been removed. There was an additional Rogers accessory mount near the top of the batter side of the drum, commonly done at the factory. Badge and grommet are missing but a working white felt tone control is present. The black paint is chipping in several areas and should be easy to remove. Looks like a possible nice natural finish below the black paint (See photo). Lots of scratches and chips in the paint. The lug casings look pretty good, Most lug fasteners look original. Tension rods are not original and hoops have some rust. The leg mounts are decent, one has more rust than the other two. Non-original Large diameter straight legs included. The leg mount caps are good and their small tension screws are original but pretty chewed up in places. Very good tone, nice deep projection.
I will ship the 13 inside the 16 in one box and will ship within 3 days of receipt of payment.
