Up for auction is a nice Hen Bluebill made either by the Hays Wood Products Co. in Jefferson City, MO, ca. 1925, or the Mason decoy company in Detroit, ca. 1920s. We lean toward Hays. It is in a mix of original and old hunter’s paint with most of the body having been refreshed at some point. The bill looks to be original paint. The decoy does how signs of wear including some paint flaking overall and rubs to the bill, top of the head and tail. The speculums appe...ar to be original to the decoy as are the glass eyes. There is an old age check along the bottom. Neat, well made decoy that is structurally excellent. Measures 14-1/4” long; 5-1/4” wide; and 6-3/4” tall. Please ask questions or for more pictures.
