A rare Federal Art Project commissioned map done c. 1937 by artist F. Rentschler for the Ohio Works Progress Administration (WPA) and issued by the Northwest Territory Celebration Commission of Marietta, Ohio in collaboration with participating states in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the acquisition of the territory in 1787. On the back of the map is a copy of the 1787 Ordinance as well as an article describing the history of the Northwest Territory and a description of... the upcoming celebration events. The map is in excellent condition for a folded map of this age with some expected tearing along the fold lines and bending / tearing along the edges, but good overall structural integrity. Please view photos for your own assessment of condition. In my brief online research, I was only able to find one of these maps available for sale. The other links I found were to ones that had either already sold or ones that were available for viewing at a library or museum.
