NOTE: This is a 3-day listing
This auction is for an early Lenci model # 300 known as the School Girl or Sweater Girl. She is 17 inches tall and is dressed in an all-felt outfit consisting of a white felt sleeveless vest with a Peter Pan collar, a tan pleated and flared felt skirt with matching felt knickers, and a bright peacock... blue short-sleeved V-necked sweater with two shallow side pockets. Her hair is buttery blonde mohair arranged in two jaunty pigtails tied with little black felt bows.
Underneath she has her cotton onesie but it missing her original socks and leather shoes.
The bottoms of both feet have very faint remnants of the word "Lenci."
Condition: The doll is in wonderful condition for being over 90 years old, but does have a few small flaws.
Her lovely face is all-original and unretouched, with delicately painted features and retaining the original cheek "blush" (as do her elbows, knees and even her toes!). There is overall shelf dust, small shallow moth nibbles on her right forehead and the tip of her nose, and some paint loss to her upper lip.
Her all-felt school uniform has some small holes in the felt knickers.
The knee-high socks are not original to the doll and were most likely added to conceal some felt loss on both shins.
The School Girl was one of Lenci's most popular children. If you don't have an example of her in your collection already, here is your chance!

Good luck and happy bidding!
