Two 17th/18th Century French Wrought Iron Keys

Original Description:
Outstanding large, high quality 17th or early 18th century iron French keys about 4.5 and 4.75 inches (12 cm) long. The larger key has a version of the typical frog leg style bow and elaborate turning at the top of the stem.   The hollow stem itself has a triangular profile and would have engaged with a rotating cuff in the lock.  The heavy bit is flared and cut for wards in the lock.   The slightly smaller key is probably the older of ...the two and has a kidney bow, square pedestal at the top of the stem and hollow stem.  The unusually shaped bit has cuts for wards in the lock.   These excellent rare keys are in excellent condition and are fine examples of this style and age of key. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  Buyer pays shipping, £4.50 UK, £11.00 to continental Europe and £13.00 to the rest of the world.
