Up for sale here an original, one of a kind, mid century, framed abstract oil painting on masonite panel by listed Canadian modernist Guy Michon (1925-1979) The artist's title of this work is "Composition". The size of the oil painting only comes to 17 3/4 inches high by 23 5/8 inches across. The total size framed comes to about 21 inches by 27 inches. The painting is signed by the artist in the bottom center and dated 1967. On the back the artist has titled the work , signed and dated... it 1967. There is also an ink stamp for the Dominion Galleries , Montreal, Canada on the back of the masonite panel. As for condition The painting is in very good condition with no restorations. The frame has just a couple of tiny nicks out of the wood but it looks good overall. Guy Michon is listed in the published book Davenports Art Reference and Price Guide. The artist also has some auction records on a few of the more popular auction result websites. Record auction prices for the artist were established in 2017. Not many works by this artist come up for sale. This painting would fit perfectly in a Mid Century Modern style home.
