This is a Japanese Meiji Army officer`s sword in kyugunto mountings. The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape, muromachi period ca. 1550 era made old family blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome-choji temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. There is no be...nd, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is chrome plated metal scabbard, shows minor dent, missing partial leather cover, oxidations but no bend and in decent condition. The handle is tight fit with cherry flower engraved D guard, brass wire wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. Lock pin is missing tip. It measures 24+1/8" tip to the guard, 23+1/2" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 5 mm thickness at the notch and 36" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S. Payment dues within 3 days auction end.
