This listing offering is for an old collection specimen of quality dark blue fortification and moss agate polished face cut limb cast petrified wood specimen from the Paulina / South Fork of the Crooked River in Central Oregon! It displays delicate, intricate and colorful mossy inclusions throughout the beautiful, highly translucent dark blue host agate! The blue agate is a pleasing fortification chalcedony and is quite calming and relaxing! From my understanding, the entire limb cast ...producing area along the South Fork of the Crooked River has been disc plowed by local residents utilizing tractors and there are no more specimens to be had. The fossil wood cast has a flat face cut and weighs 4lbs 4.7 ounces. The specimen is essentially a very thick slab with one face polished. The reverse cut shows a huge calcite crystalline deposit within a large, open botryoidal agate pocket at the center of the limb cast. This display specimen has a very good polish as well! The vintage limb cast measures 198mm by 110mm and the gem is 56mm deep. All pictures taken while the well polished, excellent agate limb cast specimen was dry. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases as long as the specimens can be packaged in a manner that minimizes the potential for damage.
