Original Description:
This auction is for an old collection specimen of top quality face cut and polished fortification limb cast petrified wood specimen from the South Fork of the Crooked River in Central Oregon and it displays beautiful banding among the highly translucent blue host agate! The blue host is a pleasing fortification chalcedony and the exterior of the specimen has a contrasting green rind! From my understanding, the entire limb cast producing area along the South Fork of the Crooked River ha...s been disc plowed by local residents utilizing tractors and there are no more specimens to be had. I sure do not see specimens akin to this anymore! The fossil wood cast has a flat polished face and weighs 7.6 ounces. The vintage limb cast measures 114mm by 64mm and the gem is up to 25mm deep. All pictures taken with the agate dry. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases as long as the specimens can be packaged in a manner that minimizes the potential for damage.
