Up for auction is a stunning antique medium blue transferware plate manufactured in Staffordshire, England during the early 1800s. The plate is in the Lady of the Lake pattern and overall the plate measures approximately 10" in diameter.
The overall condition of the plate is excellent. It is extremely clean and has no chips, cracks, or repairs with the exception of one fine hairline off the rim. The white earthenware is still very bright a...nd the blue color is deep with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with very mild crazing and there are very few scratches on the surface.
