Up for auction we have a very nice and hard to find pair of Northern Electric R4134B tube Theatre Amplifiers.This type of Amplifier was used in movie theatres along with other Northern and Western Electric equipment in sound systems of the 1940s.I removed these Amplifiers from the Capital Theatre in a small Northern Ontario town where they were siting idle for over 30 years. Northern Electric was the Canadian division of WEstern Electric and shared many patents and parts.The out...put and power transformers were of Western Electric origins.This is a premium amp as you can see from the large Original transformers.I have been using these amps to drive my Altec 604C Speakers with spectacular results. Uses 6L6G push pull output tubes , 6SJ7 voltage tube and two 6SJ7 driver tubes.Rated output is 20 watts at 10 and 20 ohms.Uses 5U4 rectifier tube.Uses precision stepped volume control.Will accept any high impedance source such as CD player or Stereo preamp. Will fit into a 19 in. Radio Rack.These Amplifiers are in very good working condition with all Original parts .That being said and because components are almost 70 years old the unit might need service at any time .These amps are in very good cosmetic condition and looks great.Comes with Coppy of manual. ----- PLEASE NOTE !!!!!!!!!!!!
