offered for sale is this very fine iconic tudric art nouveau pewter tea tray, dating from the secessionist jugendstil period of the early 1900's it is instantly recognisable as coming from the design portfolio of archibald knox which formed the basis of the tudric & cymric ranges of art nouveau pewter & silver ware sold by liberty & co, the beaten pewter is in a polished condition with absolutely no loss the the wonderful knox design elements to either side o...f the handles, it is an impressive piece not only for its rarity and its fine condition so it's easy to see why these pieces are so sought after, fully marked to the base 0231, it is a well documented piece, that dates it from around 1904, a fabulous addition to any collection at any level.the overall condition should be considered superb it measures approximately 19" handle to handle & 14" deep, it is a large heavy tray well in excess of the royal mail 2kg limit for normal post so will be sent by parcel force, this is reflected in the postage costs, it is well over 100 years old and a true antique which may show very minor signs of age & use, we are happy to accept cheques and bank transfers as well as paypalplease see our other auctions where we have listed more german & english pewter from the decorative arts era including the celtic revival designs of archibald knox for the liberty & co tudric range plus designs from the jugendstil zinn genre of wmf & their sister company orivit and their rivals kayserzinn.
