RARE 19TH. CENTURY PAIR OF ANTIQUE UNION PORCELAIN WORKS (UPW) OYSTER DISHES
A particularly rare 19th century porcelain oyster pair of plates. Manufactured by the Union Porcelain Works in Brooklyn NY ca 1880. Deeply molded and vividly hand colored. Pale yellow enamel border. Marked with impressed mark of The Union Porcelain Works was established in 1863 and remained in business until 1922. They made a wide array of products but are renowned for their oyster plates. Examples are ...found in the finest collections and museums including the MET. Size: 9 1/2" in diameterCondition: No chips or cracks. Very minor loss to color in some areas. They are 9” 1/2 in diameter
