Antique, unusual finely crafted gilt bronze figural inkwell - probably French or German origin, circa early 20th century
It is a detailed depiction of a seated, nude elf or dwarf with pointy ears and a large beard - the head opens on a hinge to reveal a hollow body with the original glass insert - it is mounted on a flat, rectangular base
Finely defined muscles, hair and facial features

It measures 11 cm tall x 6.4 cm wide x 7 cm deep - weight is 566 grams
