Vintage hand spun natural sheep wool blanket woven in the highlands of Momostenango, Guatemala. Pair of quetzal birds in center of blanket, surrounded by ladies dancing or waving throughout.Top and bottom have stylized corn motif, symbolizing life of the Mayan Indian. Measures 86" length x 59" widthI purchased the blanket in Guatemala in 1978 while living there myself. It is in excellent condition, as I have treated this piece as a fine weaving, and have not used it.
