A beautiful c1910 hand worked ARTS and CRAFTS hand hammered brooch with so many lovely touches. It is set with a blue speckled enamel / Ruskin pottery cabochon. I believe it to have been made by the same hand as a large penannular brooch I am also selling separately. Several features are identical.Clearly by a quality maker, it sings Arts and Crafts, with everything being hand made. Hammer marks are visible to see in the brooch, for example in the little faux ...rivets set in the bottom sections, next to the large silver balls. Very reminiscent with the spirals of silver wire, to William Thomas Blackband. It was also mooted to me that it is very similar to a design by George Hunt. The details in silver, along with the turquoise blue of the stone cabochon are a lovely combination. The brooch has its original pin and simple C clasp. The diameter measures approx. 4cm. It is unmarked, as were many of the Arts and Crafts pieces of this era. Please do check out the other brooch, which is probably by the same maker. I will post by International signed for from here in Italy. The box is for display purposes only but a new gift box will be supplied. Thank you for looking.
