This is a fabulous c1910 Arts and Crafts piece of jewellery, showing beautifully hand crafted leaves and berries, along with the typical mix of amethysts and pearls used so much in the early years of the 1900s. The piece clearly started life as a brooch but then was lovingly and skilfully converted into a pendant with the addition of a bale. In order to balance the piece as a pendant, I love that the jeweller added a pearl dangler. The mother of pearl cabochon at the centre of the desi...gn has a set of three leaves to each side of it. There is then a round, domed amethyst cabochon so that the cluster of details at the bottom of the pendant works well as the main feature.Further towards the top there are two more clusters of leaves, detailed with a single berry. A central amethyst is placed at the top of the design, near the bale.A beautiful piece, clearly by a talented maker...the back of the brooch section does have a maker's mark, along with the "SILVER" mark. It looks like "A.U.H." perhaps??? It is undoubtedly a quality piece and someone out there may actually recognise the stylised leaves, as they are very distinctive.

The pin and clasp are still attached so, two pieces of jewellery for the price of one. In excellent order, with just a little wear on the drop pearl. Nothing too noticeable.It will be sent by International Tracked and Signed.
