I am offering on Buy It Now two beautifully hand painted portrait plates from the German Empire of the late 1800's or early 1900's. These small 6" antique porcelain plates feature intricate borders of brown and gold. The background color is creamy and the centers show the gorgeous portraits of young, well-coifed ladies. One portrait has a back view with the lady touching her veiled frock. She is glancing sideways and has a pink flower in her hair. This plate is numbered 12 in gold and ...has a hairline on the back which does not interfere with the front of the plate or the image. The other plate has the same border, but in a bit lighter tone. This portrait features a lady in a frontal view with a blue flower in her hair. The faces are quite detailed and artfully painted. The second plate has an impressed number 230 and another which is less readable. This plate has no color loss and no wear and tear beyond just aging.
