WW2 GI Engineer Demolition Kit Bag - - Khaki - - Restoration Project
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:331675 |
Original early WW2 Engineer demolition kit bag, OD #3 [greenish-khaki] canvas construction featuring double strap flap with side "ears" and blued steel sliding tooth buckles on front. Measures 10 x 4 x 8 inches, slightly larger than the version I am familiar with. Light fading and a few small stains from age but no fraying or holes. Unfortunately, the original cotton web flap straps were removed at some point and replaced with OD green nylon straps, and t...he wide cotton web shoulder strap has been completely removed [no damage to fabric where these straps were removed]. Given the rarity of this type of bag, this one would be worthy of restoration if one could find the correct period webbing and hardware. Completely unmarked as most Engineer web gear was. One of the standard issue early war Engineer items commonly associated with Airborne troops as can be seen in several period photos. Nice restoration project and is in very good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
