WW2 GI Engineer ' S Demolition Kit Bag - - OD 3 With Wide Shoulder Strap
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:208228 |
Original early WW2 Engineer demolition kit bag, OD #3 [greenish-khaki] canvas construction featuring double strap and buckle flap closure with canvas "ears" on sides and wide khaki cotton web shoulder strap with heavy blackened bronze plated steel hinged adjuster buckle. Bag is somewhat larger than the version I have seen over the years [bag measures 10 1/4 x 4 x 7 1/2 inches, shoulder strap is 2 inches wide]. Unit marked 1-F on top of flap. Average fading... from use with some light soiling to underside of shoulder strap on left and flap straps have been replaced [when I got the bag, it had later OD green nylon straps crudely sewn to flap, apparently to replace the originals which had worn out--replacement straps are original WW2 production]. Bag can be seen in several photos of Airborne troops during the early to mid WW2 period. Nice piece for any WW2 Engineer or Airborne gear display or collection and is in very good restored condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
