This is a CDV photograph of the Captain of the ship Acadia from the 1860s-70s. It is 100% original period photo and not a modern copy of altered one. In very good condition it is clear and has no creases or tears. The corners are not bent. IT shows the man standing and his hat is one the chair. He is wearing large button/badge on his lapel and it has a large star on it. Written on the back in brown period ink is his name and says what I believe is Capt. of the hold ship Acadi...a of Amsterdam. The photographer is from New York, Havana and Paris. Nice photo worthy of research. I start all my auctions at $2.00. It has nothing to do withthe quality of the item, I let the bidders decide what it is worth.
