Antique Counter Top GENERAL STORE Chippy Paint OAK & GLASS SHOWCASE
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:3688380 | Maker: unsigned Oak/glass display case |
Approximately 15" in height, 16" width and 11" depth
This display case came out of a General Store in Southwest Arkansas, that was keep in the family long after the store closed. As you can see from the photos, it is Chippy paint patina and I tried to give some good photographs of the oak grain that is exposed( the wood grain is gorgeous), this piece could very easily be stripped and be... brought back to the original Oak.
I try not to call a piece antique unless it is, with what I know about this piece and all the details of it, I put a date on it from 1880's to 1920's. It shows signs typical from that period, a few small bubbles and imperfections that you can see upon close examination of the glass, type of wood screws and tacks. I believe everything is original except the added lock hinge. The back glass door has a small painted flower design, that I did my best to show in the photos.
I am pretty sure a one point it had a center glass shelf.
The piece is solid and sturdy, opens and closes well.
I would rate this beautiful piece as a very good condition! The buyer will be very pleased I am sure!
