For sale is a superb figurine of a dog made by Meissen during the Pfeiffer period of the 20th century . I have seen this described both as a Boston terrier pup and a French Bulldog pup and since I suck at dogs I don't which one is true. Either way he is modeled superbly and hand painted to perfection with the rare under glaze colors ( except the collar) Meissen used occasionally on these types of figures. A really nice early version of this model. The colors look quite stunning! T...he figure was first modeled by Erich Hösel in 1911 I believe. The figure is in perfect condition which is always nice! It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the dot between the tops as well as the usual impressed / incised marks as shown.
