For your bidding pleasure today and possible purchase if youare the winner two very nice pristine bisque figurines depicting a man and alady posed to dive into the water. The detail like so many of this periodfeature incredible detail right down to the hair, his mustache, hair, toes and fingersand detail of the bathing costumes. Please observe the photos as my descriptionreally can never illustrate them as well as, I hope, the photos do. Courting ormarried couple? Two good friends? The...y visually are in excellent condition top to bottom withno dings or chips or repairs or missing parts on the lady. The base of thegentleman has four small chips in the base (photo), negligible when on display, and appears to have had a mold crack under the base which looks to be repairedwith the same material as the statue. I believe it is a factory touch up -repair. See the photos as I feature and highlighted these flaws. The repaired crackis not visible outwardly at all and does not distract from the beauty. The basechips do not "jump out" either as they are on the bottom. This couplehas been together for many years and the seller- consignor ( a romantic forsure) wishes them to stay together. Consequently they are being sold as a pair.These are consigned from a major southern California collector who has providedthem a smoke free environmentally controlled home for over forty years. As thephotos illustrate both are literally excellent to view.They stand 20 inches tall and the bases average 7 inches indiameter. I observe no trademarks on the base. The consignor - collector - expertsays and believes and has assured me they are indeed pre 1900 in age. Whomevercreated them, they are excellent and need a new home. This auction is withoutreserve. Buyer pays shipping which will be in a new 200 lb rated box with clean new recyclable peanuts and will be insured. Please recycle thebox and filler as I only use new components.
