This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings. The blade is o-suriage signed "Kazusa-no suke 上総介", shinogi-zukuri shape with red urushi lacquered bohi engravings, Edo period ca. 1670 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy guno...me-choji with nie active temper and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada, no openings, no blister and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard with shakudo kojiri, no dents, no crack, no lacquer loss and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with gold foiled habaki, tsukaito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. Tsuba is mokko shape iron tsuba signed "Yoshihiro 吉廣" with nice patina. It measures 20+1/4" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 5 mm thickness at the notch and 28" in mountings. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S. Payment due with in 3 days auction end.
