RARE! 1950s Vintage Sony TR-6 Historical Transistor Radio Very BEAUTIFUL CONDITION!
Up for auction is a vintage super-heterodyne 6 transistor radio, Model TR-6 made by Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo, Ltd. (SONY) in 1956.These examples of very early days of transistor radio don’t come up so often on auction. It will make a great addition to your radio collection!
This beautiful radio is very old, but the plastic case is glossy and almost no discoloration.Sony TR-6, this model i...s made from a very brittle plastic and is easy to break.This radio has two chips. One chip is in the bottom part of the left side of the radio, and the other is in the bottom part of the right side of the radio. Both chips are already repaired.The last picture is a photo of the state of chips before repairing. Please see the last photo.
The radio operates on 4 AAA batteries - do not include batteries in this auction. I tested and it picks up many AM stations. The radio has enough volume.Tuning and volume dials rotate very smoothly as they should. All electronic parts seem to be original.The radio has a trouble in volume control. The volume can control ON/OFF but can't finish squeezing the volume to the minimum sound.
The radio easily exceed the average use number of years, but the radio is not restored because it is historically very valuable radio and to keep originality and respect it.
