Oh my! This is one of my most special, beautiful, rare transitional Ginny dolls. First of all, she is a gorgeous doll. She still has her original brunette tosca mohair side part wig retaining a great deal of its original set and a great amount of fullness. She has beautiful transitional coloring with great pinky peach blush, coral lips typical of these early girls, and beautiful hand painted lashes and brows. Her eyes are stunning tri-color blue and brown, really quite rare. Her body i...s wonderful, skin tone is natural and even and relatively matte in finish. This girl was not handled much. She appears to have been restrung fairly recently and she easily holds poses. Now for this exceptional outfit. She is wearing a gorgeous skinny vogue tagged satin ensemble from 1950-51. Its is an unidentified outfit similar to one on a doll on page 68 of the first edition of The Colorful World of Ginny. This dress I’ve only seen one time before acquiring this one, and it was in awful condition. (Except for the one mentioned in the Clark reference). This one is excellent. The outfit consists of a gorgeous screen printed mint green satin butterfly sleeve pinafore dress with matching bloomers. Neither piece has ever been laundered, and although there is minimal fading, particularly along the waist band, it’s still quite stunning with great color. Outfit is very crisp. Great elastic in the bloomers. An original pink ribbon is at the hem. On her feet are original vintage dark green tie on shoes with original pink ties. In her hair is a matching mint green satin bow and an original brass barrette. She’s an absolute vision. Thank you for looking!
