This is a hard plastic strung sleep eye pre Ginny doll from 1950, often referred to as transitional because of the pale peach lips, light facial coloring, and tri color blue eyes. Eyes are gorgeous and open and close with a tap on the bottom of his feet. Lashes and brows are hand painted and light brown, nicely complementing his light blonde original mohair short wig. His body is excellent and he poses easily. There is no damage at all, and doll is nice and clean. No collection should ...be without any least one of these bot dolls, who almost always came in a set with their sister counterparts. This cutie is dressed in a 1950 Binky outfit. I’m never sure whether this pattern is Jim and Jan or Binky and Bunky, as different references have both listed. His sister would have had a matching skirt outfit. His outfit consists of lined blue knit pants, blue striped knit shirt with hook/eye closure, and correct HTF blue knit cap with felt trim. Outfit is in very good condition with a bit of even overall fading. On his feet are very good red greek key center snap shoes and blue vintage socks. Thank you for looking at this sweet boy!
