You are bidding on a great antique kitchen collectible. It is a 1906 No. 4 Universal Bread Maker. It was made by Landers, Frary & Clark of New Britain Connecticut. It is a pail with a lid that includes a dough mixer. You pour the ingredients through the lid and mix with the mixer handle and the dough rises right in the pail. It is a manual device and it makes about 4 loaves of bread. It has a stamped cross-piece that holds the mixer and the lid fits over that.
This mixer won a g...old medal at the 1904 St Louis Exposition or World's Fair. The last patent date on the top is 1906. It has a label painted on the side.
Condition: Good overall. It works as designed and the handle moves easily. It has a fair amount of corrosion and it would need cleaning if you want to use it for bread making. It is a cool decorative kitchen collectible that you can also use for storing other things. Use your imagination! As-is.
